  43. Not sure if any one ownes a trademark on the IMG file format.
  44. IMG files are used by GEM a product and trademark of Digital Research Inc. and

  48. Not sure who if any one ownes a trademark for this file format. I would
  49. appreciate knowing if anyone does know. Note: this is the RLEs used by
  50. Windows, not the CompuServe RLE format.

  58.                              OVERVIEW
  59.  
  60. Paint Shop is a Windows 3.0 program. Due to memory requirements for holding
  61. large pictures, Paint Shop should be run under Windows 386 Enhanced mode.
  62.  
  63. Paint Shop will allow you to display, print, alter and save pictures that use
  64. variouse file formats.
  65.  
  66. Loading and Saving of GIF pictures and Dithering of any picture is done in the
  67. background,  so you may continue to work in Windows as Paint Shop is taking
  68. care of the processing of your picture.

  70. Paint Shop does allow for multiple instances (more than one copy of Paint
  71. Shop may run at the same time).

  73. Paint Shop has a built in Help system. All menu commands along with additional
  74. information may be obtained by selecting HELP - INDEX.

  79.                        PAINT SHOP DISTRIBUTION

  81. Copies of Paint Shop may be freely distributed, provided that PS.exe, PS.txt
  82. and PS.hlp are distributed togeather.

  84. No fee, charge or other compensation may be accepted for the distribution
  85. of Paint Shop. Except, Public Domain Disk Vendors and BBS(s) may charge a
  86. nominal fee for distribution of the program. The receipiant of Paint Shop
  87. must be informed, in advance, that the fee paid to acquire Paint Shop does not
  88. relieve the receipiant from paying the Registration Fee for Paint Shop if
  89. the receipiant uses Paint Shop.

  96. The latest version may be obtained from 1 of 2 sources. These sources are
  97. CompuServe and PC-Library.

  99. Obtaining from PC-Library:
  100. PC-Library is a BBS in Minnesota that operates 24 hours a day.
  101. Guests may log on by calling 1-612-435-8058. Or if your local BBS supports
  102. Connect-USA, you may get onto PC-Library that way.
  103. Members of PC-Library can use MNP and baud rates to 9600.

  105. After connecting with PC-Library, you will have to answer some basic
  106. information about your screen width and your name and address.
  107. You will then be asked to select a user-id and password.
  108. Once you have done the above, a "Main" menu will be displayed. At the prompt
  109. type in:

  113. What does that entry mean?
  114. f = files
  115. s = select library
  116. guest = is the name of the library
  117. d = download
  118. ps = do a search with the first 2 letters as ps
  119.  
  120. You will now have a display of the files that match "ps". One of them
  121. will be Paint Shop.
  122. Select the number of the file that is Paint Shop.
  123. The full discription of Paint Shop will be displayed. You will be prompted
  124. what todo next. Enter the letter of the download protocol that you want to
  125. use, and then initiate your download.
  126. After the download is complete, type in x
  127. This will exit the system.

  129. Obtaining from CompuServe:
  130. Use your normal routine for downloading files from Compuserve.
  131. Paint Shop will be in the following areas, as long as the Sysops continue
  132. to allow me to upload them there.

  142. period.

  159. ROBERT VOIT.

  162. The liscense to use this program is effective until terminated.
  163. You may terminate the liscense by destroying all copies of this program.
  164. It will also be terminated upon failure to comply with any of the terms
  165. or condition of this agreement.

  168. THIS PROGRAM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.
  169. In addition, Robert Voit specifically disclaims all warranties,
  170. expressed or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties
  171. of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose with respect to
  172. defects in the program license granted herein in paticular, and without
  173. limiting operation of the program license with respect to any particular
  174. application, use, or purpose.  In no event shall Robert Voit be liable
  175. for any claims for lost profits or any other commercial damage, including
  176. but not limited to special, incidental, consequential or other damage.
  177. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
  178. consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply
  179. to you.
